Getting Started With LOVE#

Overview#

This procedure is intended for users of the Rubin Observatory that are interested in interacting with the Observatory Control System using the LSST Operations and Visualization Environment (LOVE). It contains basic procedures on how to get started with the LOVE.

To get a list of the different environments see Operational Environments

Precondition#

  • Make sure you read and understand the environments procedure.

    • Once you have identified which environment you want to interact with, you must be able to load the link to the LOVE instance to that environment.

Post-Condition#

  • Successfully access LOVE.

Procedure Steps#

  • Request access to the IT 1Password system.

  • Request access to the site specific vault:

    • Summit

    • Tucson Teststand (TTS)

  • Log into the site specific LOVE instance.

Note

Since LOVE uses a shared login, it may not be necessary to log in when contacting the site specific URL. The credentials are necessary if the shared account is logged out.
